Living in Southern California, I sometimes find that it’s difficult for me to get into the Christmas spirit – it’s just not the same when there’s no hope of snow and your family is thousands of miles away. But…doing all the silly little holiday traditions makes me feel a lot better! I love watching White Christmas and Love Actually. I love making my grandpa’s fudge, I love listening to Christmas music every possible chance I get. I love waking up on Christmas morning to a stocking beside my bed. And I LOVE decorating our home for Christmas! In anticipation of buying our tree (real, of course) and decking the halls tomorrow evening, I decided to share with you my favorite non-traditional tree. I love the traditional red and green myself, BUT if I were ever to diverge from this, I would love to do something like this:
The teal tree from B on Main
Isn’t it great?!? I took this picture in B on Main, my favorite store in downtown Ventura last winter. It was actually a little more blue, a little less teal in person, but you get the idea. I just LOVE it! I don’t know that it has a place in my home at this point, but you get the idea! Here’s a link to B on Main’s homepage; it’s only the essence of what the real store is like, but you’ll get the picture. This store has a lot of beachy stuff, cute seasonal decor, dishes, clothing, knick knacks, you name it! So if you’re in Ventura, be sure to check it out. If you’re not in Ventura, I hope you are inspired to try something new (even if it’s a bit more subtle than a blue tree) this holiday season!
