Once was lost…

Right after our offer on our house was accepted a year and a half ago, I was immediately stricken with an insane urge to immediately decorate our new house. BUT…we had a WHOLE MONTH until I could get my hands on the new house. So, I went out and bought a new decorating book.  I made a few sketches, pasted pictures I liked from magazines, taped in paint swatches. And then…just like that…it vanished.

Luckily, the act of putting things in the book had sealed them in my brain, so it wasn’t a HUGE deal.  But I haven’t been able to put down any of my new ideas! And I hate to buy a new book, knowing that a perfectly good one is in our house somewhere! Well this weekend…my hubby found it!!! (In case you were wondering…it was tucked at the very back of a very high shelf.)

So ladies and gentlemen, here it is. The book.

And here is a pictures I really like that I pasted in it.

And remember our Master bedroom? I posted a pic a few weeks ago, but just in case you’ve forgotten…here is what it looks like:

Well, here is the sketch I did in the book before we moved into the house:

Not bad right?  I looked and looked and looked for circular mirrors that I liked, but alas, I had no luck. But I really wanted something in a circular motif above the bed.  So when I saw something quite similar to my three canvases in a designer show house last spring, I said “Self, you can TOTALLY make something like that for pennies!” So I did!

So there you have it. My long lost book.  I’ll be sure to keep you updated as I add more things to the book!  And until then, you can be sure I’m not letting this little puppy out of my sight!

Don’t think I ever had a house idea book (kept lots of loose things in a file)… but I still have my garden idea book. Hmm.. let’s see… that would make it about 20+ years old!
