What started Thursday as a horrible evening, ended up being quite the weekend…there was an airshow on base that I worked at both Saturday and Sunday (the officer spouses club sold hot dogs as a fundraiser) and my hubby worked all day today talking to visitors about his airplane. It was a long weekend, but pretty fun, but it resulted in two very funny things.
1. My hubby’s sunburn. He wore his uniform at the airshow which includes his cover (aka “Hat”). This is what he looks like now:
Apparently, my hubby and I really struggle with adequate sun protection and airshows. You may remember my awful experience with the last airshow on base. Yikes!
2. This leads me to number two. You see, after working at the airshow yesterday selling hot dogs all day, the last thing I wanted to do was cook dinner. And I spoke to my sister on the phone who told me about her trip to KFC, which led to one of the craziest cravings I’ve had in a while…for yes, Kentucky Fried Chicken. Luckily, my hubby was supportive, and even taped me in the throws of my chicken obsession. You can watch it here (although I should warn you that this is NOT pretty…I cannot be held responsible for my actions after hawking hot dogs all day and then craving crappy food).
So there you have it…MY weekend. How was yours?!?
Before the next airshow, I fully expect you to run a post about the common household products that can be substituted for sunscreen in a pinch. Perhaps all the leftover grease from your KFC pigout can be “repurposed????”
