Why I Love my Hubby

Today marks 29 weeks of pregnancy and 2 weeks of bedrest! Thankfully, the pregnancy itself has been pretty smooth sailing and has flown by. Better news though, is that the bedrest actually hasn’t been as bad as I thought it might be. And I have my Hubby to thank for that!

He’s been my chauffer to doctor’s appointments.

He’s sat by me on the couch while I watch shows like Top Chef and only complained once or twice.

He’s taken on (and done an awesome job) finishing many of the last few nursery projects.

He’s run to the store to get me foods I’m jonesin’ for. (Last night, I really wanted some chocolate, and when he went to store number one and they didn’t have the kind of chocolate I wanted –a Milky Way dark–he went to a SECOND store to get it for me!)

He gives me massages at night when my back aches from being on the couch all day.

He’s taken on almost all the chores, both inside the house and out: yardwork, vacuuming, dishes, laundry, you name it.

He’s cooked dinner nearly every night. And because he knows it will make me smile, he even brings me my grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup like this:

I couldn’t be a luckier girl. Yes, bedrest still stinks, but it’s hard to complain when I’ve got a hubby who makes me feel so loved.

From my Valentine…

I’m spending the evening cuddled up on the couch watching the movie Amelie with my Hubby, but I just had to share the awesome Valentine’s Day card he made me.

I love that Seamonkey and Pollywog are just little smiley faces. And yes, my Hubby drew a little belly for himself, too (remember, he recently had knee surgery, so he hasn’t been to the gym as much in the past month or so :) ). It’s clearly a very accurate drawing of our little family.

He also made a wonderful dinner of enchiladas and faux margaritas and got me these lovely flowers:

I think he’s a keeper :) .

Snow!

The Hubby and I are currently living in Southern CA where he is stationed, but most of my family is still back in Northeast Missouri where I grew up–and those of you living there now know that it’s snowing. Snowing A LOT. I used to love when big snow storms were predicted…my dad and I would go into town (we lived out in the country) where we would stock up on sandwich fixings, fun “snow day” snacks (port wine cheese and crackers comes to mind), movies, and other snow day necessities. So I’m a little jealous of what’s happening there now, well I was, until I saw just how crazy this snow storm is!

Last night, my dad made a DIY snow gauge that he put outside. He documented the snow build up all day…it’s pretty amazing!

Phenomenal! I’m thinking about all you midwesterners stuck at home in this blizzard! Stay safe and warm!

Commenting 101

My mom recently sent me an e-mail asking me two questions, and I thought you could all benefit from the answers, so rather than posting about Seamonkey and Pollywog or my latest foray into cookie making, I’m going to share the answers with you!

Question #1: Where do I post comments? The button to comment moved to the TOP of each post in my recent blog redesign, but just today, my fabulous web designer Shannon from Eight Crazy Designs relocated it back to the BOTTOM of the page. So click on the “Comments” section at the bottom of this post and leave a little love!

Question #2: How do I get a little picture next to my comment? That little picture is called a globally recognized avatar or “Gravatar”. It’s a little picture that is associated with your e-mail address and it follows you from site to site appearing by your name when you post a comment. Pretty nifty, eh? All you have to do is upload the image you’d like to use on the Gravatar site. Good luck!

Happy Commenting!
