Wow…lots of  things going on here!  Tomorrow is my hubby’s birthday, so I had big plans of coming home from work and immediately begin baking the chocolate cake with chocolate icing that he requested.  Well…a trip to Michaels, a stop at the grocery store, a swing by Hallmark later, and I was just heading home when I got a call from the hubby who asked me (very nicely) to bring him some civilian clothes and meet him at a bar to attend a Bail (in his military community, people are “Hailed” when they start a new job and “Bailed” when they leave…both of these instances require parties, of course).   So I ran home, picked up some clothes, and headed to the Bail.  We had made plans to get our tree and decorate for CHRISTMAS this evening, so it was just going to be a quick stop.  Well, the wind on the way over to the restaurant where the Bail was being held was crazy.  I thought my little Prius (“P-Funk”) was going to blow right off the road!  I made it safely, thank goodness, but just as we were walking up to the bar to order a Stella, the power went out!  Yikes!  So we stood around in the dark for an hour or so, had a free round on the restaurant (yeah!), and then headed to Lowe’s to get our tree.  Yes, despite the wind and rain (this morning there was a downpour!!!), we got it!!!  Now, after coming home, making dinner, and FINALLY baking the cakes…I can’t even start of decorating yet–the boxes full of decorations are all in the hallway downstairs, but at least we have a tree!  And our living room smells MARVELOUS!!!!!!

So that’s my day.  Here I am at 11:00pm.  My hubby is asleep on the couch, I have cakes that need icing, birthday presents that need wrapping, and eyelids that need closing!  I hope I make it to tomorrow (and if you see my hubby around tomorrow, wish him a happy birthday!!!!)…
