Since I’ve written about Craiglist the past two days, I thought I would round out the Craiglist discussion with a Twenty Dollar Tuesday Craigslist special. I decided to search my local area Craigslist site and look for items $20 or less just to see what I could find. Note these items are all from TODAY. This is just to give you a peak inside my method.
First up, this little side table is only $10! I just love the shape of it. If my decor was more modern, I’d be tempted to snap this right up!
If I had a bit of money to invest in a piece, I would love to snag this little loveseat. I just LOVE the shape. Many times it’s actually a better investment to purchase an older piece of furniture and spend the money to recover it rather than buy a new piece.
I love the shape of this chair, too. It would be fun to remove the cushion, paint the chair a bright color, then use a funky piece of fabric to reupholster the cushion!
A quick paint job is all these chairs would need…that purple one at the very least. These would make great accent chairs in any room!
I think this little night stand is so neat! A coat of paint in a fun color could make this a stand-out piece in any bedroom!
And if you’re scared by any of these DIY projects, you can always find plenty of user-friendly pieces on CL as well. Usually they’re a bit more than $20, but I did find this neat little side table that the seller said is from Pottery Barn. And yes folks, it’s only $20!
Some of my favorite pieces in our home are things I found on Craigslist. Why? Well, they seem to have a bit more character than things I just buy at the furniture store. They have a story. At the very least, I usually have a story about how I got them. ”I had to email the seller from a second email address!” or “We had to drive two hours, two days in a row because the two pieces didn’t fit in our car!” or “The seller said this was his grandmother’s when she was a newlywed!” You don’t get that at Restoration Hardware!
