Valentine’s Day Wreath

As promised, I’m going to show you how to make this Rose wreath I made last weekend for Valentine’s day! You’ll need:

A flat wreath base (available at a craft store)

Glue gun/ glue sticks

Ribbon

Silk roses

Step 1:  I just purchased these inexpensive roses at Michael’s, they were $2 or $3 for a bunch.  I bought a few bunches of red roses and a few bunches of pink roses. You just need to pluck the flowers off the stems, they should come off really easily.

Step 2.  Start gluing the roses, alternating pink and red to the wreath base.  Bunch them pretty closely together so that your wreath looks full.

Step 3: Once you’re done, it’s time to hang your wreath.  Just wrap a piece of ribbon around the wreath base and hang the wreath your door.  If you like, you can also add a ribbon to the wreath itself, which I was originally going to do with this wreath, but I liked it better without it!

I hope you’ve been inspired!

Weekend O’Projects

What a weekend!  It was the first time in a week that we’d seen sun here in SoCal!  I celebrated by embarking on a few little projects here around the house.

#1: I made a wreath for the front door. I’ll show you how I made it later this week!

#2 I painted our mailbox. I forgot to take a before picture, but just know that it was looking pretty weary. Here’s what it looks like now.  The best part is, I used paint we already had–so this project was free!

#3 I did some yard work!  There were some plants in dire need of attention, I filled up a yardwaste box full!

#4 I painted our house numbers! The house numbers were in this frilly flowery frame (not really my style).  I tried to take them off  and they’re pretty well cemented to the house, so rather than replace them, I decided just to spray paint them!  I love how they turned out!

#5 I decorated for Valentine’s Day.  I’ll show you pics of the house tomorrow!

After such a busy day yesterday, two friends (and one pup) came down for a night out on the town and then crashed at our house (one of the things I LOVE about having two bedrooms).  Thanks so much girls for a great time!
