How cute are these little silhouettes?!? Over at Living with Lindsay today, Lindsay demonstrates how to make these with just a photo, some cardstock, a pair of scissors, and a picture frame! Be sure to check it out! These are definitely on my list of craft projects to try! I think these would make a really neat Valentine’s Day gift for your sweetie! And yes, I did mean to end every sentence in this posting with an exclamation mark!
V-Day Decor
Like I said yesterday, I decorated the house on Saturday for Valentine’s Day! This is the first year I’ve done V-Day decor, so I didn’t really have anything in the house that was “Valentine’s Day Decor”…sooo I started by just scrounging the house (and garage) for anything pink, red, or white. I looked high and low…in my closet and in the Halloween Decor boxes…in the kitchen and in my desk. And here’s what I found:
So here’s what I started with in the living room:
The Fireplace
The Right Bookshelf
The Left Bookshelf
And here’s what it looks like now (Dear hubby reading from afar, please don’t freak about all the pink
) I apologize for the less than perfect photos…I am currently sans camera flash!
I really love the way these sparkly letters turned out. I saw something very similar at a store in a cute little boutique selling for $7.50 per letter! Yikes! I had the supplies on hand to make them, and they were super easy! I just cut the letters out of cardboard from a box, covered them in glue, and threw on the glitter. It took me back to my kindergarten days!
So there you have it–our house decked out for Valentine’s Day! I hope you’ve enjoyed the tour!
Weekend O’Projects
What a weekend! It was the first time in a week that we’d seen sun here in SoCal! I celebrated by embarking on a few little projects here around the house.
#1: I made a wreath for the front door. I’ll show you how I made it later this week!
#2 I painted our mailbox. I forgot to take a before picture, but just know that it was looking pretty weary. Here’s what it looks like now. The best part is, I used paint we already had–so this project was free!
#3 I did some yard work! There were some plants in dire need of attention, I filled up a yardwaste box full!
#4 I painted our house numbers! The house numbers were in this frilly flowery frame (not really my style). I tried to take them off and they’re pretty well cemented to the house, so rather than replace them, I decided just to spray paint them! I love how they turned out!
#5 I decorated for Valentine’s Day. I’ll show you pics of the house tomorrow!
After such a busy day yesterday, two friends (and one pup) came down for a night out on the town and then crashed at our house (one of the things I LOVE about having two bedrooms). Thanks so much girls for a great time!
